Shanghai Public Health Clinical Center (SPHCC) is Shanghai's flagship infectious disease hospital, affiliated with Fudan University and located on a large purpose-built campus in Jinshan District. History & scale
SPHCC descends from Shanghai's early-twentieth-century infectious disease hospital and was rebuilt in 2004 as a modern biosafety-oriented campus with large-scale negative-pressure ward capacity — a design choice that made it the backbone of Shanghai's response to every major infectious disease event since. As a Fudan University affiliate it combines clinical care with an active research program in virology, immunology and antimicrobial resistance.
